iQOO 15 Flagship Officially Unveiled: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 144Hz 2K Display, and Advanced Cooling Set to Redefine Mobile Gaming



IQOO has officially announced the launch of its next-generation flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15, scheduled for an event in Shenzhen, China, on October 20th. Skipping the number 14, the device is the successor to the iQOO 13 and is poised to be a powerhouse for performance enthusiasts and mobile gamers.

The company has teased several key specifications, confirming the iQOO 15 will be one of the first devices globally to be powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform. To further boost performance, particularly in gaming, the phone will also feature iQOO's custom Q3 gaming chipset.

Key Highlights and Confirmed Specifications:

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, complemented by the custom iQOO Q3 Gaming Chipset.

  • Display: A large 6.85-inch 2K (1440x2560px) AMOLED display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Leaks suggest it will be a Samsung "Everest" 8T LTPO panel with up to 6,000 nits peak local brightness.

  • Cooling System: The flagship will feature the brand's largest-ever thermal solution, the 8K VC Ice Dome Cooling System, which promises up to a 47% improvement in cooling performance.

  • Battery and Charging: Expected to house a large 7,000mAh+ battery with 100W Fast Charging and the first-ever wireless charging support on an iQOO flagship (up to 50W).

  • Durability and Features: The phone is confirmed to carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for superior dust and water resistance. It will also feature a new-generation 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor and symmetrical dual speakers.

  • Design: The iQOO 15 will be available in four colors, including a unique variant with a color-changing back cover and LED lights surrounding the camera module. The "Legend Edition" with the BMW Motorsport-inspired design has also been teased.

  • Software: The device will run on the new Android 16-based OriginOS 6 globally, replacing the traditional Funtouch OS.

Expected Camera Setup:

While the full camera specs are yet to be revealed, leaks suggest a powerful setup:

  • Main Camera: A 50MP sensor (possibly the Sony IMX921).

  • Telephoto: A 50MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom.

  • Ultrawide: A 50MP sensor.

  • Front Camera: Expected to be a 32MP or 50MP sensor.

Global Availability and Pricing:

Following its China debut on October 20th, the iQOO 15 is anticipated to launch in global markets, including India, between mid-to-late November 2025. Early reports speculate the starting price in India could be under Rs 59,999.

The launch event is also expected to feature the debut of other iQOO ecosystem products, including the iQOO Pad 5e tablet, iQOO Watch GT 2 smartwatch, and iQOO TWS 5 earphones.
